Too Much Pickle!

That little Red thing at the top left corner, beside the ‘Rasam’ in the bowl, is the Pickle. They are made of Mango, Lemon, etc, and Mr. Google will give Lots of details about them. This post is concerned about their AMOUNT!

The Average Indian Male might consume some 350 gms of food, which would include Staples like Rice, Chappatis of Wheat, Pulses, Legumes and Vegetables. About 25 gms or less of Pickle helps all this go ‘down!’

Am interested in doing some Maths now. 25 gms for 350 gms of Staple makes it about 7%. Let us be Generous and call it 10%. Even the Good Lord is supposed to have ‘Rested’ on the 7th day. So HIS rest would work out to about 14%. Let Us Call it ONE in SEVEN.

Where is All this Leading? 🙂

The Internet is Chock full of postings on Places to Visit, or Places Visited, (they are not even recommendations!), How to make Coffee, Tea or Me, er, Excuse me, Sherbets, and Cakes… In Short, Rest, Relaxation and Recreation. And Not Just from Rank Teenagers, but Persons who could be said to have been given 5 Talents or More.

And those kinds of posts get 90 thousand hits, 190 c0mments, and what not!

HOW MANY OF OURS HAVE BEEN
FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE FUTURE GENERATIONS?

Pickle is Not what keeps Us Alive! The Pickle Cannot become Our Staple! Is it a case of Too much of Pickle in our writings? Not in the sense of their Sourness. But as the Staple vs the Sidedish. The Future Generations Are Watching, You know.
