gallery Weekly Photo Challenge/B4 Retouch: Relic (Oradour sur Glane)

Even today, there are people who appreciate hitler. They are the least concerned about what happened at Oradour or places like that. But WE should not forget these kinds of things. More than that. We Owe it to Our Children and Grandchildren that Similar things do not happen again.

What's (in) the picture?

This weekly photo challenge is ‘relic’.

Oradour-sur-Glane is a small village in France. On June 10 1944 the SS entered the village in the afternoon.
They put all women and children in the church and set fire to it. All the men were put in front of a firing squad.
Just a few people survived. Now the old village is a museum. Just as it was left.
Nobody was punished by a court of law for this war crime.
All that remains are walls and  iron objects: cars but also sowing machines. And the silence and wind.
Waiting for the tram that will never arrive again.

The B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish in – an originally – small series.
That series caught on a bit more than I thought.
All of them are not retouched yet.
Scratches, dust and stains are not removed.
