What happens when …The Sequel

*******

It seems the young woman reached home at about 2.30 AM, by Bus! Whereas her father had been ‘patrolling’ the railway station all this while, to the stare of the passengers gathered there, as well as the police personnel. But as he was known there, he was not bothered.

It seems when she reached the railway station, before she could embark on the journey, there had been a ‘Rail Roko,’ (Stop Trains Agitation) in progress.

Something like this. Representational Images, All from the Internet.

The police, naturally, ’round’ them all up. And if ‘You’ got ‘herded up,’ that’s ‘Your’ luck. 😦 …Of course, the police ‘help’ things along like this too.

Shops and banks were closed, factories shuttered and traffic sparse in major cities across India during an industrial strike Tuesday called by trade unions against the government. In the push and pull, she lost both her hand bag and her phone. That’s how the call came from some other lady! …They had been herded up to a corner of a platform, and made to wait, sort of ‘cooling them down.’ …The Administration well knows that to ‘Keep up’ a fight/struggle is Extremely difficult. You just get Tired of Shouting. It is a physical thing.

When they were ‘released,’ it was dark, and MOST fortunately she found an acquaintance from whom she was able to borrow some money, and made her way home by Bus. At home, the Midnight oil had ‘Literally’ been burning.

  1. I’m so glad she’s safe Baba. In the British Isles it is safe for women to travel alone as long as they don’t do anything stupid, like going into dark or deserted places, or getting very drunk. We’re usually safe if we’re sober and in a crowd.
