This post of Our Young friend, Rachana, sharing a lot of info from one ‘Premaram,’ speaks about Security arrangements in India.
After the death of a (Girl) Student, and an Acid Attack, the home minister of Haryana, India, had said that it is Not possible to provide security for Each, Individual Citizen.
Now for some Data (as per site):
No of police personnel in India, (at the time of writing, of course), 1.926 Million.
No of Vacancies in police dept: About 500,000.
Excluding police personnel on VIP duty, India has ONE police man/woman per 663 Citizens.
No of VIPs in
Britain: 84,
France: 109,
Japan: 125, etc.
No of VIPs in India, …hold Your breath: 579,092 as of July, 2018.
Now let’s put it under Our hats.

These are worldwide problems and not unique to any one country although certainly some are worse than others. I seem to recall hearing John F. Kennedy say around 60 years ago words to the effect that these are problems created by man and man can correct them. Awareness is one step, correcting is the next which needs a much greater commitment. I wish I had a comment to inspire this, but I do not. We all must do better.

Some are worse than others! …The Indian situ is a lump of lard that can smother all others. …Agree with You on Your thoughts on JFK’s words. …As for committment, Bharti, a Great Tamil poet, had spoken of Indians’ love of Slavery. That was nearly a century ago. Things have not changed much here. Alas.
