“I’m not going anywhere.”

***

I am one of those old fools full of fears and doubts. Things are MUCH deeper than that, as I FULLY believe in the good Lord saying, “I’m not going anywhere.” That’s Why and How You see me plugging away. Found the above quote in:

the ‘Reblog’ button not working as usual, (modi’s most progressive India?) and hence sharing by copy n paste.

Liked that quote So much, made a graphic for my desk top!

How to have Everything!

*******

…Many, many years ago, when I was praying that my youngest sister get married, – it all depended on money, in India, weddings mean money, especially for a Girl, – Dowries are needed, and We are a poor family, …I got what I would call a message from God:

“You take care of my family; and I will take care of Yours!”

…I was in the seminary at that time, so started concentrating on my studies, and thinking and praying on what I could do for suffering Mankind. I can even say I stopped praying for my sister, EXCEPT for One very small prayer for her every day.

…She got married into a Very good family; am Very Happy, and I literally have More than I need.

…Do look up Matthew 6:33. It says, in effect:

Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, …and All the Rest will Fall in Line!

An Old Hindi song and Thoughts.

*******

This song, from an OLD Hindi film, Dhool ka Phool, meaning a Flower in the Dust, says: ‘(My Child), You shall become neither a Hindu nor a Muslim. You are the Child of a Human being, and Shall become a Human Being,’ sung by a man who found an Abandoned Child.

It has been sung Very Well and Soulfully by this young man. Kudos to him. …Those who know Face Language would have noted that the boy’s face reflects the sufferings of his Community, as do the faces of the Others that We can see.

Coming to Religion: Two points.

There cannot be More than One God, and,

No (True) Religion teaches one to Hate others.

Bad religion is presented by religious teachers who do not know their subject Well, and are interested in Money, Name, Fame, etc.

BEING A GOOD HUMAN BEING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.

*******

GOD, and man.

We shall start with the word: man. This applies to both the sexes, and is not gender specific.

Man has Many Great qualities, but for the intents of this particular post, man is a Most puny being.

From the beginning of Time man was in Awe, and even in Deathly Fear, of Fires, Floods and the Forces of Nature. Today he does not Appear to be afraid of these, but is washed away like Ants in the presence of a small boy watering his garden.

There is Nothing that GOD Cannot do. We are Not speaking of moral issues, to have somebody say, “God Cannot lie,” etc. Here it is man’s Puniness and God’s Almighty Power.

There are some who hold that even God would need ‘something’ to fashion it into the Cosmos. So, according to them, if there existed, let us say, an Egg, then God, who also (pre)existed, can turn that into the cosmos. Thus these people concede not one, but Two pre-existent realities.

In this post We are calling The Ultimate Power, Who is Almighty, Who can Create out of Nothing, as GOD. In the Christian Faith this is called ‘Ex-Nihilo‘ Creation, (2 Maccaabees 7:28). And God Himself alone is Pre-Existent.

This is evidently a Christian viewpoint, and mine.

Yet, The BUDDHA had mentioned Three times That which is Unborn, Undying, and Un-Compounded, as against Us Human beings who are Born, Subject to Death and are Compound.

To recap, GOD is ALMIGHTY, and man is the puniest of creatures. Man is a Creature, a Created being, who himself cannot Create Anything out of Nothing.

GOD and man are Poles Apart.

*******

It is said that GOD and man have the same Nature. Izzatso?

It is already Established in this post that as far as Might is concerned, man is Dust.

To use Anthropomorphic terms, man Will be taken into the Bosom of the Divine. That does not make him divine. The Burning Match stick and the Sun share the same Nature. But the Match stick cannot do what the Sun can. The Burning Match stick cannot Ignite and Obliterate at a distance of a Thousand miles. The Sun Can and Will.

The Sun

A Burning Matchstick

Christianity Already states that God looks upon Us as His Children. Which is what Jesus taught Us too, as in the famous prayer, the ‘Our Father.’

Another word that is used, applied and which confuses people is: ‘Holiness.’ The meaning of Holy is: Separate, the Other, the Totally Other. GOD is Totally the Other.

*******

To Conclude:

GOD is Not man, and man is Not GOD.

They are Separate Entities.

Jyoti Ashram has always been open to People in Need. Among the many who stayed with us, one Manju takes special place. Here she is!

Manju

Of note are Manju being So Full of Life; and the Closeness We can in this little family. The Girl holds her mother; the Mother, carrying her smaller child, has her hand on Manju, and even the little boy, less than a year old (meaning: he could not have been given instructions on ‘posing!’), is in loving contact with his elder sister! Rublev’s Trinity in Real Life!

For this post, Manju will be remembered for her words: ‘Naan UNNA Vida Matten,’ and the Way she spoke these. As she used to go dashing around the place, she would catch hold of me by my leg tightly, and say that. And the Way she said that was Poetical, Musical. You would enjoy it when I speak it to You!

And the Meaning of those words is this: “I will Not let You go!

Just as Manju and Other Children have Expressed their Sentiments, Adults Love, and Express theirs. God Loves, and Expresses His Love for Us, Each and Every Moment. It is Only that We have not Realized that. Our Heart has Not Accepted it.

How many Retreats have We attended? How many of them began with the theme of the Love of God? Why so many times the Same point?

Father and Son Hug

When I was searching for pictures of Fathers hugging their children, I chose this one, because this shows a Grown-up sort of Boy. God is Not Loving Just Toddlers. And He Loves Us Just as Madly, or, More Madly than this.

But We, on the Other hand, are more like this:

Son Runs from Father

The Handsome Young Man in Tie and Full Pants would rather Play BY himself. Just like Us.

The Question is: “Have We Realized… ‘These’ Things?” Namely, Love, Peace and Joy, to begin with?

Naturally, once it is explained, We can Understand the meaning of the words: ‘Naan Unna Vida Matten,’ or any other. But Does it make Our Hair Stand on End? Make Us Breathless? Bring Tears to Our Eyes out of Sheer Joy? At Every Memory?

How Much and How Well have We Experienced the Love of God in That Way?

The Love of God is something that has to be Experienced, and Realized. The Same goes for Peace-that-Passes-Understaning, God as Our Father and We as His Children, and one of the very last graces, Joy. All these, and Many Other Realities of the Bible have to be Experienced, and Realized.

*******

Dhyaan is the Best Way and Method to Realize the Deepest Realities. That is Why We should do Dhyaan.

01 GAD, (Guha Anubhav Dhyaan), …WHAT Is DHYAAN

*******

This is the first post, part of a series on Dhyaan, under:

Basically, GAD is a method of doing Dhyaan. Any adept at Dhyaan, after reading this, will say that this is Dhyaan, pure and simple, and he/she would be right.

My Method named GAD Verbalises certain points, which I have Not seen in other teachings of Dhyaan.

This series of posts are Intended FOR THOSE WHO ARE SERIOUSLY SEARCHING FOR PEACE, and Other Higher Things. As such, these are not just for Reading, but for Systematic Study and Practice.

A Great number of Links are offered to connected subjects. Anyone who is interested in GAD will Have to go through All of them, for Best Results.

WHAT DHYAAN IS:

Dhyaan is among those Supreme Methods of the East, which help us to Silence Our Mind. Dhyaan is the Method of Listening to the Spirit. This ‘Listening’ is Not a Physical one, of course. …Though Dhyaan Can and Should be followed All through one’s lifetime, it is Not the End or Goal of Life. Living, according to the Teachings of the Divine is the Goal of Life.

Relaxed

Dhyaan is Not a question of Sitting for Hours.

Sitting Frog

A Frog Sits. That does not make it a Master.

Dhyaan is Being in Contact with God.

GAD really offers You the Simplest and the Best Way of Practising Dhyaan.

GOD has the Most Beautiful Smile!

Came across this. Could not find a link to share/reblog. So am Copying and Pasting it.

*******

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he started his journey.

Little boy on his journey

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an elderly man. The man was sitting in the park just feeding some pigeons.

The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie. The man gratefully accepted it and smiled at boy. His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer. Again, the man smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the man, and gave him a hug. The man gave him his biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, “What did you do today that made you so happy? “He replied, “I had lunch with God.” But before his mother could respond, he added, “You know what? God’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”

Meanwhile, the elderly man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked,” Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?” He replied, “I ate Twinkies in the park with God.” However, before his son responded, he added,” You know, he’s much younger than I expected.”

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring; all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!

God and The Lord – Synonymous

For the Christian, the words God, and The Lord, are Synonymous. There is No difference between God and The Lord. We are dealing with English, of course. For the Yahwistic and the Elohistic traditions, deeper study is suggested.

*******

On the words God and Lord

The Roman emperors were addressed as the Lord. Rome was the biggest empire of that time. It reigned over Numerous nations. The emperor, and he alone, was called the Lord, signifying that he was the highest personage.

For the Early Christians, to note that Jesus was being given that Name, The Lord, meant He was the Highest too!

Judges, as they held sway over life and death, and as they were considered people of really high degree, have been called ‘My Lord.’ But, right from the beginning of time, judges, for the Most part, have proved themselves Unworthy of it. In any case, worthy or not, I would call it Sacrilegious that a name that is used for God is given to Mere men.

In India, if We find many called ‘Prabhu,’ (Lord) etc, is actually means a Commemoration of the Deity. It is not deifying somebody.

This does not refer to the philosophy of Advaitism.

Nor to the practice of calling people ‘Devata,’ (god), etc. (You will find people saying: “Aap Devata hain,” which is something like saying: “You are a god.”)

God and The Lord Synonymous in the Bible

Let us take the Book of Genesis.

  • In its First chapter, (proceeding slightly into the second, upto verse 4a), the word God is used. Leaving out the Pronouns, God is the Only word used to signify the Divine.
  • In the Second and the Third Chapters, We find the combined words: Lord God.
  • The Fourth chapter uses the words: The Lord, Except once, in verse 25, where the word ‘God’ is used.

Let us proceed to the Book of Exodus now.

The famous Third chapter, where Moses gets his Vision of God, uses Both the words God and The Lord.

Moses and the Burning Bush

I wonder if there is any Need or Use in multiplying examples.

All this Amply proves that the words God and The Lord are Synonymous in the Bible, and for Christians.
